FILA at the French
Fashion and tennis seemingly go hand-in-hand on the world tour today, with nearly every major brand — and even some player start-ups — releasing a new collection for two out of four Grand Slams (Roland Garros and the U.S. Open). For inspiration, some reach back into the closet to recycle trends of old, while others look to the courts for color palettes and even lines. The Italian brand, FILA, however, did a bit a both, while devising a new look to carry its ambassadors through the summer.
FILA’s newest collection, “La Finale”, debuted at Roland Garros, giving players Barbora Krejcikova and Karolina Pliskova, John Isner and Diego Schwartzman classic FILA® color schemes laid over designs that mimic the lines and curves of the court.
As part of her Paris ensemble, WTA No. 13 and 2021 Roland Garros singles champion Krejcikova donned the La Finale Racerback Tank, Pleated Skort and Pleated Dress featuring the line’s signature white and deep lake color scheme, as well as the all-black Full Coverage Tank and Pleated Skort. World No. 14 Pliskova debuted her own set of player-exclusive outfits that combine elements of the La Finale collection paired with two monochromatic pleated skorts. Both featured the La Finale Full Zip Hoodie and Long Sleeve V-Neck to complete their look.
The La Finale men’s collection presents two unique short sleeve polos, two short sleeve crew shirts and one woven short — rounded out by an off-court track jacket and track pants. John Isner sported the La Finale Short Sleeve Printed Polo in shattered black, as well as the traditional Short Sleeve Polo in the signature Persian red colorway, paired with a black woven short. Diego Schwartzman, who had the deepest Grand Slam run of his career back in 2020 in Paris, wore the La Finale Short Sleeve Crew in the collection’s dazzling blue with white trim along with the Printed Crew in the shattered black colorway.
FILA®-sponsored player Reilly Opelka, who remains side-lined with an injury, is featured in the La Finale Short Sleeve Printed Crew in the shattered black colorway.
FILA®-sponsored players wear two of the brand’s most popular performance tennis shoes — the Axilus 2 Energized and Speedserve Energized —for quick, balanced and agile movement as they look to conquer the Europe and England swing of the tour..
